ABOUT THE ARTIST
Native San Antonian, and former resident of Santa Fe, NM, Kathy Scott Beauchamp has roots sunk deep in the southwestern landscape and culture which so inspire her work.
Kathy’s signature style, which incorporates exquisite attention to detail, vibrant colors, and a unique perspective, is evident in each piece of art she creates, from sweeping Southwest and Hill Country landscapes, to original still lifes, to whimsical pet portraits and intricate paper flowers.
After graduating from Alamo Heights High School, Kathy studied fine art at the University of Texas, and with renowned artist Carl Rice Embrey at the San Antonio Art Institute. Kathy has enjoyed success exhibiting in a variety of Galleries and group shows in Texas and New Mexico and has been accepted and awarded into a variety of juried exhibitions as far back as 1983. Amidst her professional successes, she devoted over twenty years to teaching her passion for art and personal expression to young children.
Kathy’s family and friends are the lucky beneficiaries of her generous, loyal, nurturing, and fiercely loving spirit. When she isn’t in the studio, Kathy can be found gardening and feeding the deer outside her Boerne home, passionately cheering on the UT Longhorns or the San Antonio Spurs. She enjoys lively conversation and beautiful music with her mother, children, and friends, playing on the floor with her four grandchildren, and exploring the Texas Hill Country and the northern New Mexico mountains with her husband of forty nine years.
With her roots in the landscape, eyes finely attuned to all the beauty around her, and creativity in her blood, Kathy Beauchamp is the living expression of the art that she shares with the world.
